How many miles until you consider yourself an experienced biker?

It must take alot of miles before you become an experienced/advanced rider, how much have you guys ridden?

I just got my first bike this july, have only 350+ miles on the pavement so far.

you can’t call your self a combat vet till you gone to combat
So the way I see it your not an expert till you done it all and walked a way with the knowledge.
So experienced/advanced has noting to do with miles it has to do with Knowledge

How many miles in a day should I ride my bike for a good exercise?

I just got a bike and I have just been riding from my house to the park and back which is only about 4 miles in total and I feel like I could go way farther each time. I was just curious as to how many miles others do in a day. Thanks.
I already go for about 30-40 minutes when I ride, and I feel like it is not enough for me. I don’t even feel tired really at all and I feel like I could go alot more…

How many miles is too many miles when walking on a treadmill?

I need to lose weight, how many miles on the treadmill should I walk per day? Or should I concentrate on the time and not the mileage? 50 CENT said he walked 3 miles per day and he lost a lot of weight. I just want to know if this is dangerous or not.

No, it’s not dangerous. The human body is designed to walk. People used to walk everywhere before cars and bikes were invented. Just keep walking until you’re so tired, you don’t want to walk anymore!

How many miles a week should I jog/run if I want to lose weight? Is 1 mile a day good enough?

Sometimes I can do 3 and sometimes doing one gets me out of breath. Would jogging/running 1 mile a day help me lose weight? Or does it have to be atleast 2 or 3 miles? Thanks!

running is good for a cardiovascular workout, but a mile a day isn’t going to show you any results. A person should get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, and running one mile accounts for only about a third of it. But give yourself a pat on the back for exercising at all!

If you like running the mile, run it everyday, following by some sprints and crunches, pushups, lunges, etc. If you combine all of these workouts with a bit of weight training, your body should be slim and toned in no time.

And remember, the best way to lose weight is by combining a healthy diet with exercise. Load up on your protein, veggies, and fruit, and remember to say no to those afterschool or work treats like cookies or icecream and take it easy on the carbs, don’t totally eliminate them. Carbs are important as they provide energy for your workouts. Good Luck!

How many miles can you expect to get on a Chevrolet Trailblazer?

I need to buy another car for my mom to have and drive my son around. I found a 2004 Chevy trailblazer for $6500 and it has 92000 miles on it. It is a very nice car, but I have never owned one with that many miles. My husband is prudent about changing the fluids in our vehicles, so that would be taken care of. But I would like to get another 100,000 miles out of it if I do buy it. Is that reasonable?

It will require much more maintenance due to the 4-wheel drive – front axles, transfer case and many more items. Pretty soon the oil/fluid leaks will do you in.

Too many miles for a 4 X 4!

How many miles should i start to bike?

I am planning to do a 70 mile bike ride on July 14th, 2010 so i have like a month to prepare. I have looked at other websites and i will follow their plans (short mileage day, intermediate mileage day, and a high mileage day). The only problem is that i dont know how many miles i should start with. I will have about 1 hour and a half to bike. I am in decent shape, but i dont know how many miles i should start with

On the high mileage days, just take it at a steady easy rate.
The whole point of this is to push yourself when you need to, short fast bursts create the most muscle in a body the fastest. So good luck on your 70 mile :)
