How come speeding truck drivers rearly get caught by the police?

I see truck drivers speeding every time on the road when I drive. I also see them running through red traffic lights and overtaking other vehicles dangerously. Do they get away with it or not?

Do you mean rarely? What you see is not the majority. I was highway patrol and did Motor Carrier Safety – which is a unit specifically for enforcement of laws and regulations regarding to truck drivers intra and interstate. If you pose this question to a truck driver I am sure his or her opinion will differ greatly than yours.

I agree with TheHumble. Your greatest gains in speed will probably come from maintenance (defraging, clearing your system tray, deletion of unneeded files, etc.) but if you still want some software to play with there’s an accelerator called Modem Booster. how does a speed camera know which car is speeding on double lanes?

If there is a car going below the speed limit in one lane and a car speeds past in the other lane and the speed camera flashes. Then how does the camera know which car was speeding?
I was travelling in the left lane and the car went past in the right lane and was speeding. The camera flashed and I don’t want the blame!

The operator will check the speed by measuring the lines on the road and the distance both cars have travelled from the photos.
The one going faster will have passed more lines and thus will be the one which gets the NIP.

Those who say they only cover only one lane are just plain WRONG.

I need this explained to me, not just answered.

A speeding motorist passes a stopped police car. At the moment the car passes, the police car starts from rest with a constant acceleration of 4.28 m/s2. The speeding motorist continues with constant velocity until caught by the police car14.8s later. How fast is the speeding car going?

The answer is apparently 31.7 m/s. Why should it be divided by 2?

When the police car catches the speeding car they certainly do not have the same velocity. The police car catches up with the speeding car because it has a higher velocity than the speeding car. What is true is : They have covered the same distance, and/ or been travelling for the same time.
What distance did the police go travel?
s = ut + 0.5*a*t²
s = 0 + 0.5*4.28*14.8²
s = 468.75m
The speeding car traveled 468.75m in 14.8 sec,
Velocity of car = 468.75/14.8 = 31.68 m/s

Answer: 31.7m/s

How do you fight a speeding ticket, when you know you were speeding?

Do you have to plead not guilty? Just got my second speeding ticket within a year, and afraid of all the points and insurance increases. Do you have to say you weren’t speeding? Any suggestions?
What does it mean to plead No Contest, and what is likely to happen? By the way, I HAVE BEEN driving slower, but was having a bad day.
