Does taking driving classes cheapen the cost of driving insurance for new drivers?
I’m planning to get my driver license when I turn 18 which is in two months and I live in Massachusetts. The state law says that you don’t have to take driving classes in order to get your driver license if you are over the age of 18 but I am taking in order for my driving insurance to be less.
If so, do you save around 10-15% on driving insurance rate? And how long does this discount on this insurance last for drivers.
ok, I live in TEXAS, it is not required to take driving classes, some agencies do not give you a major discount… However, some agencies do, and they would need to see the certificate of driving school… Best advice is to first ask around, most of the times It doesn’t make a difference, besides, you are just 18 yrs old…expect rate to be high! specially if you drive a vehicle from 2001 or newer… Rate yourslef as married, but since you are under 25, some agencies might require a marriage license, SOME dont…so right there its a 5% discount for being a married male, agains a single 18 yr old male… also, you can get a " clean record discount " no tickets no accidents in the last 3 yrs., however, some agencies run dricing records, some dont! so like I said , ASK AROUND, ALSO, ASK FOR " LIMITED COVERAGE " same coverages, WAY lower rates… there are some called STANDARD, ask about the two, and you’ll see the difference… once you turn 25, insurance will be no longer a problem… Hope this is helpfull !
