Having learnt this he shows submission when you enter the room. This submissive body language is taken as a look of guilt and we think he knows what he has done wrong. All the time the mess on the floor, is no problem to the puppy; all he has does is to walk around it or step over it. The mess only becomes a problem when the human arrives, sometimes hours after it has been deposited there. Seeing the mess, the human becomes cross, the puppy shows submission and the whole vicious circle is created.
