How come speeding truck drivers rearly get caught by the police?
I see truck drivers speeding every time on the road when I drive. I also see them running through red traffic lights and overtaking other vehicles dangerously. Do they get away with it or not?
Do you mean rarely? What you see is not the majority. I was highway patrol and did Motor Carrier Safety – which is a unit specifically for enforcement of laws and regulations regarding to truck drivers intra and interstate. If you pose this question to a truck driver I am sure his or her opinion will differ greatly than yours.

They keep to the law more than we do – they can be prosecuted for illegal speed on a tacka even if they were not caught in the act – ergo the police then to wait until they have them pulled over for routine inspections.

I live 5 miles from the Canadian border and I see it all the time, about a 1/4 mile before the speed limit changes from 35 to 50 mph on each end of town. There are some very good truck drivers but the bad ones are scary and I have seen very few actually get pulled over!

the answer is really quite simple, there are a lot more truck drivers than there are cops. Then again, you might not notice trucks that are obeying the law.
